WYBC and CHESLA congratulates our October Student of the Month: Catherine Bayden!
Catherine is a scholar-athlete that excels in the classroom and in athletic competition. She is an aspiring EMT with a very bright future. We are thrilled to name her this month’s WYBC Chesla Student of the Month!
Catherine was nominated by Coach Latrice Hampton:
It is with great pride that I recommend Catherine Bayden as Student of the Month. As a dedicated scholar-athlete and aspiring Emergency Medical Technician in the City of New Haven. Catherine exemplifies what it means to lead with passion, discipline, and vision.
As a standout member of our cross country team, Catherine a two year Captain brings not only athletic excellence but also a spirit of perseverance and teamwork. Whether she’s cheering on her teammates at the finish line, or keeping the pace for the pack, her commitment to personal growth and collective success sets her apart.
Off the course, Catherine is equally driven. She is actively pursuing her dream of becoming an EMT with the Yale Center for EMS participating and works as Museum Educator at the Yale Peabody Museum where she shares her knowledge of paleontology anthropology and neuro- science. Emma is constantly seeking new opportunities to learn and innovate. Her initiative, creativity, and problem-solving mindset have already made her a role model for her peers.
Balancing the intense demands of athletics, academics, and career is no easy feat—but Catherine does so with humility, integrity, and unwavering determination. She is a young woman of character, courage, and vision—truly a future leader in every sense of the word.
For all these reasons and more, Catherine Bayden is a truly deserving recipient of the Student of the Month recognition.
