94.3 WYBC, New Haven Public Schools and the Superintendent of New Haven Schools, Dr. Reginald Mayo are looking for the STUDENT OF THE MONTH!

We're looking for students that are a super nova among shining stars, with good grades and exemplary behaviour. He or she should have a 95% attendance record for the academic year (fewer than 10 absences). Passing assignment and homework completion grades, model behavior ratings by teachers, and should be a good ambassador for their school and community.

Help us recognize these future leaders. Help spread the word at home and in the community that doing well in school is doing well in life.

If you know a child you feel should receive this honor, let a school official know their name. They could be the next Student of the Month. Even if they don't win this month, make sure you make the effort to let them know how proud you are of their efforts.

Devante Sealy

This month's Student of the Month is Devante Sealy.  Devante attends Hyde Leadership School and maintains an A grade average. He currently attends US Government class at SCSU and is currently a full time student at University of New Haven as an outstanding High School Senior. Devante participated in the UConn Mentorship Summer Program from 2010-11 as well as a week-long leadership program at George Mason University as a 10th grader. As a 9th grader he participated in the Aspirations for Higher Learing Program. He has been accepted into eight different colleges, including SHU, and is interested in pursing a degree in American/International Criminal Justice. Congratulations and job well done, Devante!
