Sparkle, a musical film directed by Salim Akil and starring Whitney Houston, Jordin Sparks and Mike Epps, will open in theaters across Connecticut Friday August 17th. This film is a remake of the 1976 film and it takes place in Detroit in the 1960s during the Motown era. Sparkle marks the debut of Jordin Sparks as an actress and the fifth and final feature film role for Whitney Houston, who died three months after filming ended.
