Anne Fadiman has been Yale's Francis Writer-in-Residence since 2005. She is the author of a work of reportage, The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down and two essay collections, Ex Libris and At Large and At Small. She will read from an essay about The South Polar Times, a remarkable magazine produced in Antarctica between 1902 and 1912. This is the seventh year that Anne has presented three of her most talented writers in an evening celebrating the personal essay. The public is invited to enjoy the work of some very promising writing talent--and you heard it here first!
