The Mayan civilization dates from 2000 BC, and reached its peak in the classical period from 250-900 CE. No one knows why this highly developed civilization with large, well-organized cities collapsed in a short period of time. Photographers Carole and Richard Witkover traveled to Central America to explore Mayan ruins and meet the modern Mayan people living in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Belize. This fascinating, multimedia presentation will take you through ancient temple pyramids, colorful colonial cities, and rural Mayan villages.
