Adam Currie’s decision to become a musician was colored by the great rock bands such as the Beatles, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen. The seminal influence on his songwriting is John Lennon. Adam taught himself to play the guitar by playing his favorite songs in the classic rock genre and later emulating Lennon he began writing his own songs. He studied music theory with Charlie Lagond of the Lagond Music School in New York. Adam’s sound is a mixture of the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Dave Mathews all rolled into one. His debut CD “Adam Currie” was released in 2004 and produced his most requested single “Think of You”. This song was in Costa Rica’s Top 5 most requested songs for 10 weeks in a row. The follow up CD “The Weight” was produced by talented musician/producer Seth Glassmen (James Brown, Hall & Oates, Ronnie Spector, Carole King and more). This talented musician and songwriter is t he lead singer of The Links was voted “Best Unplugged Folk/Acoustic Singer-Songwriter” by Fairfield County Weekly, on his debut in a countywide folk-rock competition. The bands he’s been songwriter and lead singer for have performed in venues such as Mohegan Sun Casino, The Ridgefield Playhouse, and Fairfield Theater. His bands have been a staple performer at the Norwalk Oyster Festival and the Sono Arts Festival. He has opened for legends such as Lou Gramm of Foreigner. He has played at charities such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Riverkeepers’ 16th Annual Shad Festival.
