The Environmental protection agency (EPA) has eventually started to impose its Lead based paint Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) program that started last 2008. It will require that all contractors who has work results in a disturbance of a painted area be certified to work alongside harmful lead paint and includes a total list of new processes that contractors need to comply with or face enormous fines, license to do business, loss of certification and even jail. Main affected trades are renovators, painters, handymen, plumbers, demolition contractors and electricians but all contractors might be subject sooner. At the moment, it’s any contractor who scrapes into painted surfaces in homes built before 1978. Contractors are simply just affected if they work in properties that were constructed prior to 1978 therefore new develop construction personnel are not necessarily necessary to be certified except if improvements are a part of their work.
