The Institute Library presents the New Haven book launch of Elihu Rubin's Insuring the City: The Prudential Center & the Postwar Urban Landscape Monday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m. Journalist and author Mark Oppenheimer will host the event, which will include a presentation by and conversation with the author on issues of midcentury urban renewal and its legacies in Boston, New Haven, and beyond.Elihu Rubin is an architectural historian, city planner, and documentary filmmaker. He is Assistant Professor of Urbanism at the Yale School of Architecture.Copies of Insuring the City, published in 2012 by the Yale University Press, will be available for signing and for purchase for $30 (one-third less than the $45 list price).
