08/24/2013 - 08/25/2013 Dates: Saturday and Sunday Hours: 8am-5pm Sponsor: Old Westbury Gardens With bagpipes, caber tossing, and highland dancing, the Scottish Games is one of the highlights of our season. It is believed that the games were begun by the ancient highland chieftains to help them select the strongest men for their armies. It is believed that the games were begun by the ancient highland chieftains to help them select the strongest men for their armies. The Long Island Scottish Clan MacDuff, co-host of the event, always provides lots of entertainment during this two day festival. Join us for the Grand Opening Ceremony at 12:30 pm as the bagpipers march down the North Lawn to open the games (note: the traditional highland games will only be on Saturday). $15.00 adult; $12.00 over 62; $7.00 children (ages 7-17) and members; children ages 6 and under free.
