About The Show (via www.shubert.com)

It’s been 30 years since the boys of Fair Eastside High sang their school song in the bathroom during one of the most famous scenes from the 1989 movie, “LEAN ON ME.”

Now, the Song Birds from Eastside High – who stunned movie-audiences with their harmonic rendition of the school song “Fare Eastside High” – are back with original cast member JERMAINE HOPKINS as Mr. Sams and a talented host of cast members.

30 YEARS AGO it all began in the movie “LEAN ON ME” with five childhood friends who were caught singing in the bathroom by Principal Joe Clark. At an early age they realized that they had a gift of song! The group was formed and soon gained fame and fortune, but as time passed things slowly begin to change. The group faced challenges that turned into turmoil and rolled over into their personal lives slowly tearing the group apart. As brothers they never thought that a woman would come between them, suddenly the fame and stardom dismantled and forced them to part ways. Each conquering their demons and destinies.

30 YEARS LATER will they be able to overcome their challenges, or will they allow it to destroy them and their legacy? Be in the house to see what happens to “Dem Lean On Me Boys.” The reunion will leave you on the edge of your seat, invested in their survival and encouraged by their story.
